High Speed Rotor Grinder

GRINDING of HPC and HPT rotors of aircraft engines and Grinding of rotors for gas turbines

Advantages Reform High Speed Grinder

This REFORM grinder consists of well-proven modules. Many years of experience in the field of grinding with specials machines guarantees the latest state of engineering in grinding technology, e.g. concerning machine construction.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that our machine does not have a moveable table with the rotor.

On our machine the rotor will be kept stationary while the grinding and measuring units are moveable.

All components of this machine are from well-known German manufacturer. Most of the spare parts are available also on a local market of our customer.

The machine is specifically designed for High Speed Rotor Blade Tip Grinding, therefor the machine will have several advantages, such as:

  • higher rigidity
  • especially advantages of grinding small and big rotors
  • smaller floor space consumption
  • compact, quickly removable machine

On-board Master:

This feature is an additional check to the calibration of the machine with a Master rotor, the benefit of the system compared to static reference blocks is the fact that dynamically the gauging system can be checked, similar the situation when using a master (gold) rotor.

Calibration/Reference Blocks

Positioning reference blocks, fixed at front and rear pedestal, are used for alignment checking of the pedestals/rotor. The deviation from zero position will be automatically calculated in the NC-program. This feature will guarantee high accurate grinding result. They are also used to verify the correct installation of the chucks. Deviations in the total length will cause the program to stop with a corresponding message on the screen.
